21 Aug Premier’s Awards for Indigenous Youth Excellence in Sport
About the Awards
The Province of British Columbia and the Indigenous Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation Council (I·SPARC) have collaborated to establish the Premier’s Awards for Indigenous Youth Excellence in Sport to celebrate the outstanding achievements of Indigenous youth athletes throughout the province.
The Premier’s Awards for Indigenous Youth Excellence in Sport recognizes athletes who have achieved excellence in performance sport, are regarded for their leadership qualities, are committed to pursuing a higher education, and are recognized as community role models both on and off the field of play.
Nominations will be accepted for youth athletes under 25 years of age (born in 1994 or later) training and competing in performance sport. A total of 48 awards will be given out, eight awards (four male and four female) within each of I·SPARC’s six regions. Recipients will be honoured at Regional ceremonies conducted throughout November 2018.
