An evening with Patrick Shannon
The Movie Night is designed to be a more chill alternative to the Dance Party.
We’ll be screening Saints and Warriors (2025), a documentary following the Skidegate Saints of Haida Gwaii as they defend their championship at the 2024 All Native Basketball Tournament, where basketball becomes a celebration of culture, identity, and resilience. As a new generation rises and the Saints face the twilight of their dynasty, the film reveals how true victory is measured not only in points, but in the strength to protect who you are, on and off the court.
Following the screening, director Patrick Shannon (Nang K’uulas), an Indigenous-Haida filmmaker from Haida Gwaii, will join us for a live Q&A.
